Please complete our short survey, and the results will then be shared with all sponsors and charity followers in our next newsletter, and on our social media channels.

THE SEARCH FOR SPONSORS....

We currently have 280 children sponsored by around 150 separate sponsors. This means that we still have 220 children without a sponsor.

As a loyal supporter of the Future of Taru, do you have a family member or friend who may be likely to support us by sponsoring a child please? If so, they can either

a) complete a Sponsor Expression of Interest Form by clicking here

or

b) please ask them to email us at:

CHRISTMAS IN TARU

Paul is asked regularly what does a Future of Taru child do for Christmas? Well, they are likely to travel to visit grandparents quite often in a different part of Kenya, they may well have the best meal of the year which will likely be a pilau rice dish with goat meat and chapatis, the girls may get their hair done, and a child may be bought a new outfit – there are no wrapped gifts or money gifts etc.

So, this is why when Paul is asked this question by a sponsor that he suggests a food parcel for their sponsor child and their family (£25) as this may well last them for one month, and for a gift for the child then new school shoes and a school bag are always very welcome. Thank you to our sponsors who provided such gifts last Christmas, you can see some of the happy recipients in the images above!

DEVEMOPMENT NEEDS

We desperately need to install Gas across both schools, plus we also desperately need to rebuild the toilets at High School as they’re now too small and inadequate – if any supporters know of any funders who can help us with these two projects please do get in touch.

SCOUT UNIFORMS

Some of our supporters very kindly funded us to buy Scouts uniforms for a number of our pupils; thank you so much to those of you who made these generous donations!

SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT - SOLAR LIGHTING

We were blessed to receive funding for solar lights at our High School.

BOARDING FACILITIES PROGRESS

We were also blessed to received funding for development of a new boarding sector, as directed by the Kenyan Education Authority – this will be for our High School girls. Paul will post further updates when he is back in Taru later this month!

And that’s all for our latest update from the Future of Taru. As always, thank you to you all for your incredible support! To share this newsletter with your friends and families, use the buttons below!
